Investors Bank awarded PCCI $7500 in August to support our SCEEP Programs. Q. Why are you changing PCCI's name?
A. The primary purpose of the name change is to adequately reflect the mission and program activities of PCCI.
Q. Why the name change now?
A. PCCI wants to accurately portray our partnerships with Newark Public School’s (NPS) Office of Academic Services, Office of Visual and Performing Arts and school principals. In addition, PCCI partners with various SCEEP sites (Suburban Cultural Educational Enrichment Program) to facilitate academic enrichment services to Newark youth. Our SCEEP sites include churches, corporations, and community-based organizations.
In addition, the original name can be mis-leading because PCCI is not a religious or non-secular entity.
Q. Will the name change affect PCCI's programs such as SCEEP?
A. No. The work PCCI conducts will remain the same. We are just as dedicated to the mission of PCCI to Bridge communities and build relationships through educational and cultural enrichment for children of the greater Newark area.
Q. How can I support PCCI's name change?
A. There are many ways to support. Reach out to your network by posting on your Facebook page or forward an email to alert your contacts.
Q. Why do I still see the Protestant Community Centers, Inc. on the website and Facebook page?
A. We are in a transitional stage where all of our marketing materials, including website, Facebook, etc. will reflect the original name. The full transition will take approximately 2 weeks.
Q. What if I have additional questions?
